Buying guide

Heat is the enemy of every car charger in the UAE. A dashboard in direct sun gets far hotter than the 45–50 C outdoor air, and a phone on a mount there will throttle and stop fast charging, so pick the mount position as carefully as the wattage. Three groups sit here. Plug-in chargers add power without holding the phone: the Anker 30W Dual-Port Fast Car Charger (USB-C and USB-A), the Anker 323 Dual-Port USB-C Car Charger at 52.5 W, the Anker 3-Port Ultra-Fast Car Charger at 167.5 W with a cable bundle, the Powerology Nexar Smart Car Charger and the Super Fast Retractable Car Charger with its own lead. Mounts that charge while they hold: the Porodo 3 in 1 Dual Coil Car Charger Mount with a 15W wireless pad, the Porodo 3 In 1 Magnetic Car Charger Mount with 20W PD, the CANYON OnGrip 105 15W Qi2 unit, the Yesido C78 wireless vent mount, the Green Lion Magprime charger holder and the Ferrari MagSafe 15W car charger. Match the fixing to your car: the Porodo Air Vent Adjustable Car Mount and the Yesido C78 clamp to a vent, the Yesido C41 telescopic suction cup sticks to the windshield, and the Porodo Flexible Easy One Touch grips the dashboard. The Green Lion GC-233 Power Inverter turns your 12V socket into a 230V mains outlet: check its continuous wattage, and that it accepts the three-pin Type G plug used in the UAE.

Frequently asked questions

Will my phone still fast charge on a mount in the UAE summer?

Not reliably on a hot dashboard. A parked car in summer sits well above the 45–50 C outdoor air, and past roughly 40 C most phones throttle or refuse fast charging to protect the battery. A vent mount such as the Porodo Air Vent Adjustable Car Mount or the Yesido C78 sits in cooler air than the dash, while a suction-cup holder like the Yesido C41 on the windshield does not solve the heat by itself. Keep the phone out of direct sun, take it off the mount for long stops, and carry a plug-in charger as backup.

Wireless magnetic charging or a plain cable: which should I buy?

It depends on your phone and your case. The magnetic options here — the Porodo 3 In 1 Magnetic Car Charger Mount, the Porodo 15W Magnetic Wireless Car Mount, the CANYON OnGrip 105 15W Qi2, the Green Lion GX-41 MagSafe suction holder, the Green Lion Magprime charger holder and the Ferrari MagSafe 15W car charger — rely on magnets in the phone or in the case, and Qi2 needs a certified device and case to reach 15 W. If your phone has no magnetic ring and you do not want a magnetic case, a plug-in charger such as the Anker 30W Dual-Port Fast Car Charger is cheaper and more dependable.

Does the Green Lion GC-233 Power Inverter work with normal UAE plugs?

It converts your car's 12V socket into a mains-style outlet at 230V, but two things decide how useful it is. Wattage: it is built for small loads such as a phone, a lamp or a laptop, not a kettle or hairdryer, so read the continuous rating rather than the peak. Plug shape: the socket on the unit has to physically accept the three-pin Type G plug used across the UAE, which is bulkier than a two-pin plug. A USB-C PD charger plugged into it is fine; a US-style two-pin adaptor only works if the socket allows it.

Is one car charger enough, and how do I read the wattage figures?

The number on the box is usually the total output shared across ports, not the output per port: the Anker 3-Port Ultra-Fast Car Charger at 167.5 W and the Anker 323 Dual-Port USB-C Car Charger at 52.5 W each reach that only with a single device connected. If you are running two phones, divide the total. Also check the connectors — the Anker units here are USB-C and USB-A, while the Yesido Y63 four-in-one adds a built-in cable that saves a socket. All of these draw from the 12V or 24V accessory socket in your car, the same round socket used for a normal phone charger. Delivery is one to two business days anywhere in the UAE: 12 AED flat below 150 AED, free at 150 AED and above, payable by card, Tabby, Tamara or cash on delivery.
